Everyone was all dolled up and dashing when they arrived at Luxent Hotel. The theme for this year’s party is RareJob Infinity: Masquerade Ball. All the RareJob staff members scrubbed up well, with others putting effort on their masks.
As part of welcoming 2017, let me take you back to one of my memorable experiences in 2016 as a RareJob employee.
It was only my first day of work in RareJob when they told me about the year-end party. It seemed like everyone was excited for that day as the question, “Do you already have a gown?” lingered in the air until my second week at work. The excitement was contagious as I found myself counting the days until the event, too.
Then came the most awaited day. I packed my dress, shoes, and mask, and went to the office. After shift, our workstation slowly turned into a salon, with everybody prepping up, busy doing their hair and make-up. The vibe was festive; we were all excited to party!
Everyone was dolled up and dashing when they arrived at Luxent Hotel. The theme for this year’s party is RareJob Infinity: Masquerade Ball. All the RareJob staff scrubbed up well, with others putting great effort on their masks. My team members and I, being the early birds that we are, were one of the first twenty guests to arrive at the venue. We did the scavenger hunt as part of the pre-program activity and received awesome prizes.
The party started with an opening number from the RareJob Dance Troupe starring the candidates for the Mr. and Ms. RareJob 2016.
The night was packed with fun and excitement. The dinner was sumptuous that I had to resist getting more servings. There was also a mobile bar and a photo booth to complete the set-up. The “Family Feud” game was a big hit, with surveys about RareJob’s heartthrobs and Most Favorite Lunch Viand of all time. There was also a special number from last year’s RareJob Got Talent winners: Yca, Grace, and Carla, whose talent and charm got everyone hyped up to party. And who wouldn’t forget the first ever Mr. and Ms. RareJob pageant where everyone rooted for their bets and screamed at the top of their lungs? It was a blast!
As a newbie, one of the highlights of the event was the giving of RareJob Employee Awards. It was inspiring to witness how the company recognizes the employees’ hard work and dedication. I couldn’t help but imagine how I would look while receiving the plaque and the personalized watch. “Someday,” I told myself.
When the party music started, some immediately strut their stuff while others seemed shy, looking hesitant and self-conscious. Kato-san, our CEO, went around, grabbed their arms, and pulled them to the dance floor. Slowly, the party was picking up – people dancing to their favorite tunes, laughing their hearts out, and having a good time. It was nice to see my new RareJob family enjoying the night – even the big bosses knew how to party!
Overall, the year-end party was definitely one for the books. I can’t wait to know what 2017 has in store for me. A trip to Japan perhaps?
