Most of us buy lots of make-up but fail to put enough importance on skin care. If you want a flawless face without piling on tons of product (i.e. foundation and concealer), then you should start taking care of your skin, stat!

Glass skin, anyone? Here are five steps you should always do to achieve that glowing skin sans make-up.

 

  1. Cleanse

Get rid of all the oil, dirt, and sweat that accumulated on your face throughout the day as these may clog your pores and lead to breakouts. To remove make-up, use gentle cleansing oil, and then follow it up with your favorite facial wash.

  1. Exfoliate

Exfoliate to scrape off the dead skin cells and reveal a healthy skin underneath. Be sure to perform this step once or twice a week so as not to overdo it.

  1. Tone

Always tone right after you wash your face to bring back your skin’s pH balance. It also removes the remaining residue of dirt, oil, or make-up on your face and prepares your skin for the next step.

  1. Moisturize

Never ever fail to moisturize your skin to prevent wrinkles and fine lines. Apply moisturizer after you take a shower in the morning and before you go to bed in the evening.

  1. Apply Sunscreen

The sun causes the most damage to our skin as it hastens skin aging. Protect yourself from the harmful UV rays by applying sunscreen. No excuses! Don’t think of skipping this step on an overcast day as UV rays can still pass through clouds.
