In 2023, RareJob had a dynamic year filled with significant events held and milestones achieved, with tons of online and offline events across the country. This year, we focused on catering to our tutors’ needs and wellness and creating both online and offline events that hold immense significance for our tutors. These events are invaluable platforms for fostering community and continuous learning.

The team expanded its reach and impact by fostering bonds with tutors, implementing innovative educational discussions, and offering wellness advice to tutors. We had online webinars, talks, and assemblies where we got to talk with tutors and share tips. Having online events provides accessibility and flexibility, allowing tutors to participate regardless of limitations. With diverse backgrounds, it enabled knowledge sharing and the exchange of best practices.

Planning and creating online and offline events is challenging, as both require different approaches. Online events require looking for platforms and applications to help make the event lively. Engaging with the audience is difficult, too, as we are still determining if everyone is connected. Responses can also differ as connectivity issues occur.

On the other side, on-site events offered and provided opportunities for face-to-face interactions, which can deepen connections among tutors. It created a tangible sense of being in a larger community and relationships beyond the digital realm. These allowed tutors to engage in hands-on activities, build stronger rapport, and collaborate more closely. We held hangouts in Metro Manila, Pampanga, Laguna, Bacolod, Cebu, and Davao. Tutors who reside in those areas or are in the vicinity were all invited to come and participate!

While on-site events require planning,  finding venues, and canvassing prizes and merchandise given to participants, we created more fun games and prizes to encourage more tutors to join and have fun.

One of the highlights of these events was interacting with and getting to know our tutors, both online and in person. It allowed us to strengthen the bond between us and the tutors. We also showcased the close relationship between us and our tutors. These events amplified our bond and facilitated a cross-cultural exchange, enriching the learning experience for everyone.

2023 was not just a year of accomplishments but a period of personal growth for each member who joined us. Through challenges, setbacks, and triumphs, we honed our skills, expanded our knowledge, and refined our approaches. We can’t wait for the upcoming 2024 events.

This is a bit of a spoiler for our tutors because we will have our most significant yet. Better prepare for more events that will continue this year; we hope to see you there!
